Hero

Hero

Over the last couple of months my group and I have been working on a hero project, and it is complete. (Full Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSeHYUNBnoo) My main contribution to the project was creating the majority of textures, creating the story, and helping with the animation. My animation was kept entirely in the first scene while my partners worked on editing and the animation for the second scene.

For the start of the project we all a agreed to not use any images from google and create out own textures. I have done the most texturing in the group so I have created the most textures.

These are both textures I created. The top one is the texture the hero wears on his shirt (he's not a very good hero). It is made to look like it was just slapped together in a few minutes with a can of spray paint. The logo on the bottom is for the evil corporation (really just a regular pizza place) that the hero will be fight. The logo is supposed to be a regular logo, but is created in such a way that it gives the hero the smallest reason to assume the place is not on the up and up. It's based off many bar and grill logos that i found online.

On the modeling side I have created the first scene of the animation. The alley and the street isn't much on it's own but with all the little details i've added like the dumpster and bench it really pops. I also did a lot of lighting along with adding a moving light to the moped. The rest of the group also made things for the scene like Zac's building and rigs and Jeremy's moped base.

The top image  is the alley the hero will start in (and possibly live in). The bottom picture is the street the the moped will drive down. The grey area will been hidden form the camera.

Though handwork and determination we were able to finish the project before the end of the semester. It was not and easy task considering the amount of work and all the problems we had. A few of the major ones were getting all the scenes to fit with the same assets which required a lot of scaling a manipulating. The second big issues was trying the animate wit hate less then stellar rig we were able to produce, and the final and by far most annoying problem was lighting the scenes. Light never seem to want to work and overtime we were shown one thing the render would look completely different either being to dark or too the light. The fact that e choose the animation to take place at night made it that much harder.

In the end, though, we were able to pull through with some valuable experience like gaining some lighting and animation skills. I'm sure we have a lot more to learn and that new problems will always appear, but i thing this project was secures because it gave us the knowledge to deal with these issues in the future.
