Short projects
Maya Short Projects
This is my hammer. This hammer has defeated me more then once, but after a long hard battle i finally made it look like a hammer. I had to fight the cut faces tool and the vertex. The nail puller part of the hammer took me the longest time. I just couldn't get it to curve the way i wanted to. I didn't learn how to move the vertexes i had to beat every vertex into place, and after along time it finally happened the nail puller curved. Now i feel like i can do this pretty fast since now i know how to work the extrude tool. Even though this was hard i feel pride in being able to do it and not giving up.
This is the bounce project. I dropped three balls and used science to make them look realistic. I used key frames and them spent a lot of time moving them up and down. The golf ball looks a little strange towards the end, but everything else turned out all right and since was the first thing I animated in maya i'm pretty proud of it
This is the cup project. I used nurbs it make them. It was a struggle it make the cups because it was hard to make the line and then you the revolution tool to make the full cup. You can see where I messed up a little. On the first cup the bottom is a little to big and makes the cup look strange.
This is the salt shaker. I used the loft tool to make it. I created a frame for the shaker and then the loft tool let me add the faces to the frame. The top was created by cylinders to make the holes for the salt to come out. Then i made a perfect glass texture and added the salt by duplicating the shape making it smaller then putting a salt texture on it. Then I lit it to make to look pretty.
This is my castle with four towers and four walls. The walls and towers are copies of each other. This didn't have really any pre-planing, but while i was making it i decided that it needed to have a flag and a landscape. I stared with making the towers and then the walls. The towers were made using two cylinder and using difference to shape the tower. I don't think i would do any thing different if i had to do it aging. It's is perfect the way it is. The only real problem i had with this was with the bump mapping looking really wried sometimes.
